We know we haven't published Cuenca Part B yet, but we thought we would add a few photos from our current trip to Baños.
Baños is about a 6 hour bus ride north of Tambo, so we headed out in the morning for our journey. This little town is definitely touristy-it's known as the tourist capital of Ecuador. Wes keeps saying "This is the Myrtle Beach of Ecuador", do to the fact that there are dozens of little shops that all sell the same exact things and there are a bunch of attractions that agencies are constantly trying to get you to book. The fortunate thing is, unlike Myrtle Beach, everything is very reasonable-in fact, today we went on "La Ruta de las Cascadas". Here are a few of our photos:
You can take a trolley ride over the falls
Some of the beautiful flowers (thought of you Aunt Julie)
Can you spot our little friend?...Yes, our first parrot sighting!
Here Wes is standing beside a huge lagoon, you can't see it well in this photo, but trust us, it was awesome!
This is the largest waterfall in the area and it certainly didn't disappoint!
This gives a bit more perspective on how big it really is!
This is a look down from the middle of the waterfall
Check back soon for more of our adventures in Baños!
